Jackson’s The Clarion-Ledger wrote an in-depth piece on Michael Simeon after his stunning Hollywood Week performance.
“I think he understands that it’s more than a singing competition,” [Linda Smith] said. “Those judges are looking at artistry, stage presence, personality, ability, certainly, but they’re looking for someone who can be a superstar in the very near future.”

Last time we saw Michael, he was slow dancing with Jennifer and solidifying his position as “the one to beat” when it comes to winning that particular judge’s heart. Now he’s on that Hollywood stage, dancing not even an option.
Starpulse.com breaks down last night’s “American Idol.” Great job #TeamDimbles!
Members: Jaq Mackenzie, Michael Simeon, Nick Fradiani, and Hunter Larsen.
Song: “Rude” by Magic.
Impression: They had the best group performance of the night. Everyone sounded amazing and they did the most interesting choices with their performance and song. We’re not fans of “Rude,” but we loved their version of it.
Cuts: None. They all advanced to the next round.
The episode once again ended with a cliffhanger. In the next group, a member collapses.

BuddyTV.com contributor Bill King wrote up a thorough review of “American Idol” season XIV’s Hollywood Week. He also declared Michael the winner of American Idol, so that’s a positive development.
Team Dimples, with Michael Simeon, Jaq Mackenzie, Nick Fradiani and Hunter Larsen, do a surprisingly good job with a terrible song choice in “Rude,” but the best part is when Jaq sings about putting on her “wet suit” to ask you a question. J-Lo professes her love for Michael, and all four advance, with Harry proclaiming that all but one of them will eventually be sent home (thus declaring Michael the winner?).
